People, Places And Things
I have been working with photographs since 1983. Although there have been times when the obligations of living took me away from making pictures, I have never lost interest. Aside from the obvious, there are three things I love to do: Write, make photos and read.
During the eighties I spent hours working in a real darkroom, learning the second stage of making a photograph. The initial part is in the camera; the equally important aspect is what photographers do with the negative, digital or otherwise after it is taken out of the camera.
Like so many other film photographers, switching from film to digital was no easy task for me. Consequently, I finally decided to get an education using PhotoShop – I have had more hours of instruction than I can remember. And it didn’t take long to see that I can carry my “darkroom” anywhere I have a computer.
I no longer do professional work in the sense of getting paid for it. Most of my work from the eighties and nineties has been lost. I now make photos as time can be spared.
